Win Some and lose Some Tell me about a victory that you have felt. How was it a victory and why did you succeed? Tell me about a time when you had a defeat. How was it a defeat and how could you avoid it happening in the future?
Studious Students • Look at the horrors of war through an example • I am really proud of those who finished those projects today • Breakdown the two battles that Patriots competed in at the time
Finding the Combatants • Start by coming up with the generals in this battle • Next those 2 commanders each need four majors • The rest of the class will be Sergeants on each side
Red vs. Black • We have just entered in the color battle • The goal is to use the desks to establish warzones • When you walk to a desk if your color has more people then you hold the zone • We will have five rounds to see who has more captured land
Let the Battle Begin • Your battle level is the number of letters that are in your name for instance David Yancey is 11 • The combined total of each location for each side is the power level of the zone • If you are at a zone where you are overpowered then you have to be removed from the activity for two rounds • Every round I will choose 2 desks that will be danger zones that will KO all players that choose it
Battle Strategies • If you take a zone drop a colored playing card so we can keep track of locations • You might want to work together somewhat but not too much • How can we see what this will lead to? • Let’s start!!
Battle Of Kettle Creek • Occurred Valentines Day February 14th 1779 • Raised the morale of Georgia Patriots • The Georgia Militia were led by Elijah Clarke and Thomas Dooly • Austin Dabney and Nancy Hart are among the patriots to fight in this battle • The most important patriot victory for Georgians in the revolutionary war
Siege of Savannah • In 1778 Savannah was retaken by the British and James Wright returned to power • Georgia was the only colony recaptured by the British • The French and Patriots tried to retake the city but failed horribly • A black Haitian troop fought • 800 patriots died (including Pulaski) but only 18 British died after 5 days of fighting • This was a victory for the British and Loyalist
Presenting the Projects • I am sure everyone is proud of their projects • Great job from what I have seen s far • Would anyone like to show what they know?
