Who can benefit from Women’s Health Physiotherapy? 1) Pregnancy: • Your body experiences a number of changes during Pregnancy. • It is important to stay active and do regular exercise during pregnancy. • Also it is important to seek professional advice on your exercise requirement especially if you have been previously inactive, to ensure safe exercise plan. • Pelvic Joint Pain, Pregnancy Back Pain, Swollen Ankles and Leg Cramps are common complaints during pregnancy. • We can assist you in making pregnancy a wonderful phase of your life by helping you with these conditions. • Consult our female Physiotherapists who can assist you with hands-on treatments, exercises or postural advises to improve or manage the problems you experience.

Who can benefit from Women’s Health Physiotherapy? 2) Prenatal & Postnatal Classes: • These classes are run by our female physiotherapists. • Prenatal classes cover pelvic floor, abdominal exercises along with general exercises safe during pregnancy. • Postnatal classes cover checking of DRAM, pelvic instability, pelvic floor, abdominal exercises, back care, when to return to exercises, sports, baby massage, tummy time. • Cost of prenatal and post natal classes are $15 each.

Who can benefit from Women’s Health Physiotherapy? 3) Continence & Pelvic Floor Dysfunction: • Incontinence is a term that describes any accidental or involuntary loss of urine from the bladder (Urinary Incontinence) or bowel motion, faeces or wind from the bowel (Faecal or Bowel Incontinence). •  Incontinence is a widespread condition which can range from small leak to complete leak. •  In fact, over 4.8 million Australians have bladder or bowel control problems for a variety of reasons. • Our Physiotherapists can assess your pelvic floor function and tailor an exercise program to meet your specific needs.

Who can benefit from Women’s Health Physiotherapy? 4) Menopause : • Menopause is also known as the “change of life”, as it marks the end of monthly menstruation.  • This change leads to decrease in female hormones that may lead to a higher risk of osteoporosis, weak pelvic floor causing incontinence and heart diseases.  • Our Physiotherapists help with exercises that will help manage weight, and increase your bone density and muscle strength to reduce osteoporosis.
