Nº 241, D.O. 1998 Nº 32, Tomo Nº 350, del 13 de febrero de 2001 • Ley Especial para la Protección de Victimas y Testigos • DL No. 1029, de fecha 26 de abril de 2006. • Publicado en el Diario Oficial No. 95, Tomo 371, de fecha 25 de mayo de 2006. • En su artículo 38, la Ley Especial señalaba, que la vigencia de la misma será ciento veinte días después de su publicación en el Diario Oficial. • Entra en vigencia el día 22 de septiembre de 2006. • Convenio Centroamericano, Noviembre 2007

  5. OBJETO • Regular las medidas de protección y atención que se proporcionarán a las víctimas, testigos y cualquier otra persona que se encuentre en situación de riesgo o peligro, como consecuencia de su intervención en la investigación de un delito o en un proceso judicial.

  6. PRINCIPIOS • PROTECCIÓN DE LA VIDA, INTEGRIDAD FÍSICA Y MORAL, LIBERTAD, PROPIEDAD Y SEGURIDAD DE LA PERSONA. • PROPORCIONALIDAD Y NECESIDAD, RESPONDE AL NIVEL DE RIESGO O PELIGRO EN QUE SE ENCUENTRE LA PERSONA DESTINATARIA, Y SOLO PUEDE SER APLICADA CUANDO FUERE NECESARIA PARA GARANTIZAR SU SEGURIDAD. • CONFIDENCIALIDAD, TODA INFORMACIÓN REFERENTE A LA PROTECCIÓN DE PERSONAS DEBE SER RESERVADA PARA LOS FINES DE LA INVESTIGACIÓN O DEL PROCESO RESPECTIVO.
