R – Restate the question Always begin your paragraph by restating/paraphrasing (saying in your own words) the question that has been asked.
A – Answer the question Let the reader know what your answer is to the question. Don’t make the reader guess what you are thinking!
E – Explain your answer using at least three details All paragraphs and short responses must have at least three details, using text based evidence (TBE), to explain your reasoning. Show how intelligent you are!
C– Conclusion/Connection Now that you have shown the reader your reasoning, conclude the paragraph with a powerful statement, with a connection to real life.
C – Check your response You’re not done! Check to make sure that you have included everything needed to create a powerful paragraph.
