Athletics (33% weight) • Admissions look for • 2 years participation in a UIL sport • High Candidate Fitness Assessment results • Statistics • 79% were in 1 or more/any sport • 21% football • 12% basketball • 8% baseball • 27% track • 11% swimming • 15% soccer The Candidate Fitness Assessment is a basic fitness test that evaluates coordination, strength, speed, agility, endurance, and how well a candidate will keep up with the daily athletic demands. The CFA is a required pass or fail test. Failing will most likely disqualify an applicant during the application process.

  5. Applying to the academies is much lengthier than applying to any other college or university. With such a rich history, the academies weigh each decision very carefully. Thousands of candidates meet the basic requirements, but they only select the best and most talented young men and women to represent our nation.
