  3. View point “Cut” the mountain in half by drawing a line across the part of the mountain you want to see in profile Draw in Profile line: Profile line

  4. Draw in elevation lines Draw in elevation lines beneath the topo map

  5. Draw in guide lines Draw guide lines perpendicular to profile line • Start at the point the contour line (in black) crosses the profile line (red) • Draw the line downward until it meet the elevation line indicated on the contour line

  6. Draw in guide lines Draw guide lines perpendicular to profile line for each contour line that crosses the profile line

  7. Draw in Profile Connect the points on the elevation lines

  8. Color in Profile Color in the area underneath the connecting linesYour profile is complete!!
