Newton’s First Law • If an object is in motion it will stay in motion until a force is applied upon it. Also if an object is at rest it will stay at rest unless a force is applied to it. The ball won’t move until she kicks it.
Newton’s Second Law • An object with more mass will take more force to move than an object with less mass. • The polar bear takes more force to move than the kitten.
Newton’s Third Law • When a force is applied to an object the object applies the same force back. When one side has a great force objects either break or fall etc. • This is an equal force but if the ball breaks his nose its not equal.
Gravity • A force that pulls objects back to the earth. • That fat is being pulled down by gravity. • If the cat stands up his fat hangs.
Acceleration • The increase of speed. • The puppy is accelerating in speed pushing the fur out of his face.
Resistance • Something stopping/slowing an object. • The resistance is a puppy blocking the other puppies.
Force • A push or a pull on an object. • The force is the puppy pushing the cart.
Potential Energy • Stored energy • The potential energy is the cat standing he has the energy to fall.
Kinetic Energy • Movement in an object. • The kinetic energy is the kitten falling.
Physical Change • Is the visible change of an object. Before change After change
Chemical change • Is creating a new substance. • To get the nails rusty they need water to rust them. Before Change After Change
Homogeneous • A mixture were you can’t see the particles. • You cannot see the particles of the smoothie.
Heterogeneous • A mixture where you can see the particles. • You can see the particles in the dog kibble.
Difference Between:Compound, Element and Atom. • Compound is chemically combined and much harder to separate the mixture. • Element is made up of one atom. An atom is just the building block of every thing.
