  5. Timeline of Events • Austrian Archduke Francis Ferdinand goes to Sarajevo, Bosnia • Bosnia was Serb saw Austria as aggressors • JUNE 28, 1914 Archduke was assassinated by Gavrilo Princip • Austria gives Serbia and ULTIMATIUM to cease anti-Austrian aggression

  6. Serbia does not comply with all of the demands • Austria declares war on Serbia on JULY 28, 1914 • Germany backs Austria • Russia backs Serbia, angers Austria • Austria declares war on Russia
