PEMDAS Challenge • You will need two sheets of looseleaf notebook paper folded into fourths and 1 index card (on table) • Simplify each of the following four problems –one per section on your looseleaf. Be sure to show all work • When finished with the four problems, create your own “challenge problem”.
PEMDAS Challenge • 20/ (4-(10-8)) • (43-1)/ (4+2) + 10 • ((3)^2)^2 • 49/7 x 60/ (2 x 5)
PEMDAS Challenge • Your problem should include at least four different operations (you can include any additional operations that you may know – if we haven’t discussed, that’s OK) • Write the problem on the index card and then “challenge” someone to solve. The person should solve on their own quarter sheet of paper.
PEMDAS Challenge • Be sure to write your name on your index card and on any papers for problems you solve. • 10 bonus points will be awarded to the “best” challenge problem • 2 bonus points will be awarded to each challenge problem you solve correctly. • Maximum of 14 bonus points per person.
