Data from studies in Singapore and China suggest the Asians have comparatively lower rates of visual impairment then non-Hispanic Whites.Asians have high rates of myopia, myopic retinopathy, angle closure glaucoma and a different form of macular degeneration.In Asians the rates of diabetes, diabetic retinopahy, open angle glaucoma, cataracts are similar to those of non-Hispanic Whites.
