Document Description Operational Article Operational Articles (OA) provide additional operational information to support the knowledge and understanding of a subject referred to in operational guidance documents. OAs are deemed to be stand-alone documents which do not have a formal review time frame. These documents will be no more than four pages and should be less formally written. The information contained within an OA should not duplicate the information written in other products but expand upon it, allowing OAs to provide clear concise single point of reference which can be linked to one or more guidance documents. They should be concise and easily understood (a coffee time read) and be written generically to be able to enable them to be linked to one or more other documents.
