What do we do? Support to statistical systems in country Work on improving the effectiveness of the international system
1. Supporting statistical systems in country • Providing: • Financial support • Technical assistance • Training • Long term strategic planning (NSDSs)
System wide approach to supporting statistics • Country owned strategic plan (National Strategy for the Development of Statistics) • Regular joint stakeholder discussion (National Partnership) • One shared funding source, preferably in government (Pooled/basket funding) • A bridge between donors and technicians (Lead donor and lead in country donor statistician)
