  3. Objective of the IGCC • The Smart Grid Coordinating Committee is responsible for coordinating the work that is underway in defining and developing of an intelligent distribution and transmission grid that may impact PES and its membership.

Accelerating the Development of Smart Grid Standards • IEEE Standards Association is providing support to working groups for smart grid standards development: • Project management • Expedited publishing • Comprehensive review/draft development • 2-4x/year meeting attendance by staff • Website maintenance • Electronic meeting facilitation • Document repository • Voting mechanisms • Video feeds • Web conference, e.g., GoToMeeting • Consensus balloting • Calendaring/meeting scheduling

  10. New Activities • Develop a IEEE PES Smart Grid Roadmap • Create a task group to: • complete and maintain the list of PES standards that are Smart Grid related and • create a map between the NIST PAPs and the IEEE standards • Identify individuals to be liaisons to the other PES committees
