BREAST CANCER CENTER Stage 1 A Breast Cancer When diagnosed with Stage 1A Breast Cancer, the tumor is found only in your breast and is 2 centimeters or smaller, about the size of a peanut. The cancer has not spread to your lymph nodes, shown here in green, or to any other organs in your body. Stage 1 B Breast Cancer A Stage 1 B Breast Cancer diagnosis is when your tumor is smaller than 2 centimeters and may have formed small clusters of cancer cells in your lymph nodes. Blood and Imaging tests are done to understand your general health, confirm your diagnosis and determine your cancer stage.
BREAST CANCER CENTER Stage 2 Breast Cancer is divided into stages 2A and 2B depending upon the cancer’s size and location. Stage 2A Breast Cancer The tumor is larger than 2 centimeters, but smaller than 5 centimeters, about the size of a small lime, without affected your nearby lymph nodes, OR The tumor is smaller than 2 centimeters and has spread to the lymph nodes under your arm an area called the Axilla, Stage 2B Breast Cancer The tumor is larger than 2 centimeters but smaller than 5 centimeters but it has also spread to the lymph nodes under your arm. OR The tumor is larger than 5 centimeters, about the size of a lime, but has NOT affected your lymph nodes.
Breast Cancer Center Stage 3A Breast Cancer Stage 3B Breast Cancer The tumor is larger than 5 centimeters with affected lymph nodes under the arm (axilla), fixed or not, or near the breast bone, but not both at the same time. The cancer has spread to the skin of the breast or your chest wall or the parts of your body that protect your lungs Stage 3C Breast Cancer Stage 3C Breast Cancer means that the tumor in your breast is any size.
Stage 4 Breast Cancer Stage 4 Breast Cancer also called Metastatic Breast Cancer is when the breast cancer has spread beyond your breast and lymph nodes to other organs in your body. Stage 4 Breast Cancer is also called Advanced Breast Cancer.
