  2. How did you dress? • Cuffed pants, leg warmers, overalls, teased hair, and feathered earrings. • Difference: No leg warmers

  3. What did people do for fun? • Ride bikes, skateboard, and played outside a lot. • Difference: Teens spend a lot of time inside.

  4. What were some popular sayings? • Excellent, awesome, and totally • Difference: We use words like swag and ratchet.

  5. What was a stereotype you had? • People who listened to heavy metal music were “devil worshipers.” • Difference: We don’t refer to people as “devil worshipers.”

  6. What was a tradition you had? • Eating dinner with the family every night- Dinner hour. • Difference: Some families are to busy to have dinner together.

  7. What were the expectations of students in school? • Graduate high school and get good grades • Difference: Kids drop out of school

  8. What was some popular music? • Madonna, Prince, and Michael Jackson • Difference: We listen to Justin Bieber and One Direction.

  9. Was it popular to eat out? • Just ordering pizza occasionally, so not really. • Difference: People go to McDonald’s a lot

  10. What was technology like at the time? • Phone on the wall with a cord, no computer, and no cell phones • Difference: Everyone has cell phones

  11. What were some of your hobbies? • Climbing trees, playing outside, watching soaps • Difference: People stay inside a lot
