Neptune By Rebecca Gentry
Neptune’s description • Neptune orbits the Sun once every 165 years. It is invisible to the naked eye because of its extreme distance from Earth. Interestingly, due to Pluto's unusual elliptical orbit, Neptune is actually the farthest planet (including dwarf planets) from the Sun for a 20-year period out of every 248 Earth years. The eighth planet from the Sun, Neptune was the first planet located through mathematical predictions rather than through regular observations of the sky.
Distance from the sun • Nearly 4.5 billion kilometers (2.8 billion miles) from the Sun.
Length of a year • 164.79 Earth years 60,190 Earth days on Neptune.
Length of a Day • 0.67125 Earth days 16.11 hours.
Neptune’s Atmosphere • Hydrogen, Helium, Methane are Neptune’s Atmosphere.
Day and Night Temperatures • Metric: -214 °C • English: -353 °F • Scientific Notation: 59 K
Water on Neptune • Probably there isn’t any water on Neptune.
Life on Neptune • I don’t think Earth like life could survive on Neptune because it’s a gas planet, and it doesn’t have water. Neptune is also cold so no one could survive.
Neptune’s Moons Neptune has thirteen moons. • 1. Triton2. Nereid3. Naiad4. Thalassa • 5. Despina6. Galatea7. Larissa • 8. Proteus9. Halimede10. Psamathe • 11. Sao12. Laomedeia13. Neso
