Joel Chapter 3 - The Battle of Armageddon! 3:1 “For behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem.” Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylon laid siege to Jerusalem in 586 BC, the Jews were massacred or taken captive as slaves to Babylon for 70 years. The Temple built by Solomon was destroyed; Jerusalem was burned. This 1st Destruction was God’s punishment for Israel’s idolatry! Exactly on time in 516 BC, God sent Ezra and Nehemiah to rebuild the Temple. The Jews returned, Jerusalem was rebuilt and God’s Chosen People returned to idolatry! The Temple Treasure was taken to Rome as spoils of war Exactly 40 years after Jesus was crucified, the Roman Prince Titus and the 10th Legion laid siege to Jerusalem in 70AD.. The Jews were slaughtered; the 2ndTemple was burned, and the city Jerusalem razed to the ground - just as Jesus had prophesied in Matthew 24:2, exactly on the same day! The remaining Jews were scattered to the nations for almost 2000 years, Hosea 6:1,2.

  6. The Second Return Spoken by Joel was May 14, 1948. Because of the collective guilt from the Holocaust, the League of Nations voted “in one day” to give the Jews a land of their own - Israel! “Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in 1 day? Or shall a nation be born at once? For as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.” Isaiah 66:8

  7. “and Jerusalem”……Israel regains control of Jerusalem the 2nd time on June 7, 1967 after the “Six Day War” Against all odds, tiny Israel conquered her enemies and regained her Holiest place, The Temple Mount - for the 1st time in almost 2000 years!
