  1. How to configure a Yahoo email account on the Outlook 2016 desktop app? STEP-1 Sign in to your Yahoo Mail account using your web browser. STEP-2. On the top-right, click the menu (gear) button, and select Account Info. STEP-3.Click on Account Security.

  2. STEP-4 .Turn on the Allow apps that use less secure sign in toggle switch. STEP-5. Open the Outlook desktop app. STEP- 6.Click on File. STEP-7. Click on Info.

  3. STEP-8.Click the Add account button.

  4. STEP -9. Select the Manual setup or additional server types option. STEP-10. Click Next.

  5. STEP-11. Select the POP or IMAP option. STEP-12. Click Next.

  6. STEP-13. Add your account and Yahoo mail server information: Your Name: First and last name Email Address: accountname@yahoo.com Account Type: IMAP Incoming mail server: imap.mail.yahoo.com Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.mail.yahoo.com User Name: accountname@yahoo.com Password: Yahoo Mail password (or app password) STEP-14. Click the More settings button. STEP-15. Open the Outgoing Server tab.

  7. STEP- 16. Check the My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication option.

  8. STEP- 17. Open the Advanced tab, and use the following settings: Incoming server (IMAP): 993 Use the following type of encrypted connection: SSL Outgoing server (SMTP): 465 Use the following type of encrypted connection: SSL STEP-18. Click OK.

  9. STEP-19. Click Next to complete the configuration process, which may take a little while. STEP-20 .Click Close . STEP-21. Click Finish.
