Inside this book you will read from nineteen year old Cassie’s point of view. Cassie is a very logical girl who in the beginning of the book only believes in science and facts. • Cassie soon learns of her family’s involvement with the Polar Bear King. Finding out that the bedtime story that her grandmother would tell her every night before she went to bed was true; Cassie is horrified to find out about her engagement to the Polar Bear King.
After the shocking discovery of her engagement Cassie is even more surprised to find out that her dead mother is not so dead. • Striking a deal with the Polar Bear King Cassie promises to marry him if he saves her mother. Agreeing to her deal the King promptly saves her mother, but to do so he is forced to make a promise to the Trolls. • After unintentionally breaking the Kings promise to the Trolls Cassie is forced to go on a journey to save her husband. She must face the mystical beings called the Munaquri, starvation, exhaustion, her grandfather, and the Trolls if she ever wants to see he beloved husband again.
