Types of sentences (review) • A simple sentence has only subject and one predicate • The lead guitarist ran onstage. • A compound sentence contains two or more simple sentences combined with a conjunction or a semi-colon. • The lights flicked on, and the lead guitarist ran on stage. • The lights flicked on; the lead guitarist ran onstage. • A complex sentence has one main clause and one or more subordinate clauses. • Fans cheered when they saw their favorite guitarist.
