12. I have designed this presentation for my High School Spanish I class. It is based on the benchmark: Analyze and discuss linguistic structures and conventions of the target language and English that is located under the Foreign Language Content Standard: Comparisons: Develop insight into the nature of language and culture. I will use this presentation with the entire class in order for all students to gain a basic understanding of how to say the alphabet in Spanish and how to pronounce its sounds. There is also a focus on practicing the more difficult and often confusing sounds of the Spanish language. Slide 3 of the presentation is the starting point for each of these harder sounds. As each letter or set of letters is clicked on, the presentation will take viewers to a slide about that particular sound. Many of these slides have audio clips that will be played in order to emphasize the correct pronunciation of the various sounds. Some slides also have links to other websites that are to be used for further practice (see, listen, and repeat) of the sounds. Once viewers are done with one slide, they may click the home action button which will take them back to the slide of difficult sounds where they may then choose another one to practice. Viewers will repeat this process until all sounds have been practiced. I believe that this presentation will be very helpful and informative for the whole class and also as a remedial tool for those students who need the extra help.
