Pg 19 In the setting Rainsford and Whitney are talking and Rainsford mentions how bad an animal must feel being hunted. Whitney shows no remorse. Whitney goes to bed and Rainsford looses her pipe and falls over board trying to get it. It shows he is addicted and he is the kind to no think at split second thoughts.
“There was no breeze. The sea was as flat as a plate-glass window. Pg 20 This was when Rainsford fell over board trying to grab his pipe. He was in the ocean swimming and it was calm no breeze or waves. He was lucky but it shows hes calm and level headed.
the muttering and growling of the sea breaking on a rocky shore Pg21 When Rainsford is swimming to the island and he hears a strange yell. Then he herd the noise cut short by a pistol shot and he knew there were people on that island for them to save him so he decides to swim over there to shore
” A big tree with a thick trunk and outspread branches was nearby Pg 32 General Zaroff is chasing Rainsford through the swamp as they are playing “The Game.” when Rainsford makes a trail to throw off the general he spots a huge tree which he can climb up on to get off the ground and end his confusing trail. But sadly it doesn’t work the general knows hes there.
At daybreak Rainsford, lying near the swamp Pg 35 After Rainsford makes his Burmese tiger pit and claims one of the generals dogs the general leaves for the day. Then Rainsford gets some sleep and he awakes to the sound of the general and Ivan chasing him with a pack of dogs. He runs through the swamp to escape and comes upon a cliff.
