Dismounting and a Tire on a Wheel Assembly • Dismounting the tire from the wheel begins with releasing the air, removing the valve stem core, and unseating the tire from its rim. The machine does the unseating. The technician merely guides the operating lever. • Once both sides of the tire are unseated, place the tire and wheel onto the machine. Then depress the pedal that clamps the wheel to the tire machine
Lower the machines arm into position on the tire and wheel assembly
Insert the tire iron between the upper bead of the tire and the wheel . Depress the pedal that causes the wheel to rotate. Do the same with the lower bead. • After the tire is totally free them the rim, remove the tire.
Prepare the wheel for the mounting of the tire by using a wire brush to remove all dirt and rust from the sealing surface. Apply rubber compound to the bead area of the tire.
Place the tire onto the wheel and lower the arm into place. As the machine rotates the wheel, the arm will force the tire over the rim. After the tire is completely over the rim, install the air ring over the tire. Activate it to seat the tire against the wheel • Reinstall the valve stem core and inflate the tire to the recommended inflation
The brake lathe is designed to resurface rotors and drums on domestic and foreign automotives
What is fuel vapor? • Vapors released from gasoline • The most common exposure to gasoline occurs by breathing vapors when filling your car’s fuel tank • Spills, leaks or improper disposal of gasoline can cause contamination of soil, groundwater, surface water and air
What do you do if you come in contact to gasoline? • Shower or wash in COOLER water. Wash and rinse clothes in cold water. The hotter the water, the more gasoline evaporates into the air you breathe • Air out bathrooms, washrooms, and kitchens by opening doors and windows and turning on exhaust fans • Things not to do around fuel vapors: • Do not light matches, weld, or any other form of fire around gasoline vapors. Gasoline vapors are highly flammable. • Be sure to turn off all cell phones, pda’s, or any other small electronic devices
IF YOU DON’T TAKE SAFETY PRECAUTIONS AROUND FUEL VAPORS…. THIS COULD BE THE AUTO SHOP
