Funding Pre-16 Funding Similar to last year: • The last 2 years has seen loss of funding at KS4 (Curriculum Pathways), including: Practical Learning monies, KS4 engagement, 14 – 19 Flexible Funding, Work Relates Learning and Young Apprenticeships • 2011 - 12 last year of Diploma Funding and Local Delivery Support Grant • Core DSG funding is protected – “flat cash” (against major cutbacks in other areas of service) • Minimum Funding Guarantee remains at -1.5%

Funding Cont. • New money in addition is Pupil Premium 2012 – 2013 = £600 for Free School Meals, £600 for LACs, £250 for Military schools. • For more details regarding Core funding and Pupil Premium • Contact KCC Finance Schools Budget Team • Finance meetings are arranged for the 2nd week in March where the real technical issues will be discussed

  4. Delivering more with less 12/13 • 1st September Universal impartial guidance • Raising Participation Age Issue Value for money for 16 – 18 year olds provision

Where’s the money gone…? • Apprenticeships 16 – 24 – SFA • Apprenticeship enhancements: supporting delivery of maths and English - SFA • Access to apprenticeships: pre-apprenticeship work experience – SFA • Employer incentive payments: Work Programme – JCP Apprenticeships - SFA • NEET re-engagement programme – SFA (ESF) • New NEET support: most vulnerable NEETs - DfE

  6. Impact Co-ordinated programme pathways for 16-18 year olds which are easy to navigate, with flexible exit and entry points • Entry level/Foundation Learning, new programmes • Employability Pathways • Transition programmes learning to work
