Meiosis Phases • The first phase Is similar to Mitosis
Need for Meiosis • Meiosis is critical for sexual reproduction to occur • Sex cells, either an egg or sperm, typically come from different organisms of the same species (plants can be an exception) • Fertilization is when the sperm gets inside of an egg • Once this occurs, the cells are now called a zygote
