  2. Old School Portraits In portraits like this, we can see the social classes that are established well. In years of the 1700’s and such, queens like her where displayed to be royal, beautiful, and pale. The point of paintings these was to show the class of the person. This is Marie Antoinette. She is known for being one of the famous victims during the French Revolution. It was painted by Joseph Ducreux in 1769. <http://www.webdesignerdepot.com/2009/06/100-portraits-of-iconic-people-of-all-time/>

  3. More Modern portraits A more modern portrait of a young girl named SharbatGula. She was one of the contributors to a project done by National Geographic called “Green Eyes”. In this project, National Geographic was trying to track the genetic trait of green eyes passed down through the Mongols of Genghis Khan’s time. This portrait is a demonstration on how things evolved in portraits. Now they are not only made for higher social classes but also just to leave someone saying “Wow.”. This portrait was photographed by photographer, Steve McCurry, in 1985. <http://www.webdesignerdepot.com/2009/06/100-portraits-of-iconic-people-of-all-time/>

  4. Bap Process In the BAP process, there were many steps to take. First, I began by thinking of the traits that I wanted to actually emphasize the “ugly” in. Then I began to look up pictures in magazines so that I could draw my portrait more realistic. Next, I drew my first portrait in my sketchbook by drawing as realistic as possible and adding much value. Finally, I carefully drew it on the final piece of paper. I waited to add value, but with the watercolors. I added all this value, by having different shades of the same colors. Then I finally drew in the traits that I was emphasizing as being “disgusting”.

  7. My poem She will never put her head down. She walks around with a cigarette in her mouth. She knows it’ll eventually kill her, But she lives in the present. She has strength like no other. Not in muscles, or in intelligence, But in the soul. You can see all the hopes, All her dreams, All in her deep blue eyes. She doesn’t mind the laughter of her hair or face, She enjoys it. She’d much rather have people be happy than frowning, Even if that happiness comes from mocking her. She’s a strong woman.
