  5. Nitroglycerin • Contraindications • BP<100mm Hg • ED drugs in past 24-48 hours

  8. Nitroglycerin • Dose • 0.4mg sublingual • Tablet or Metered-dose Spray • May repeat at 5 minute intervals • Patch Varies • Paste Varies

  9. Nitroglycerin • Side Effects • Hypotension • Reflex Tachycardia • Headache • N/V • Flushing • Dizziness

  10. Nitroglycerin • Comments • Do not give if patient is standing • If tablet form - Protect potency • Store in original brown bottle • Keep tightly sealed • Protect from light, air, heat • Secure new supply every 4 - 6 months
