What is a home zone ? • Shared space : opened area to all transport modes, • Priority to pedestrian over all vehicles (except tramways) • Double-way for cyclists, even in a one-way street • Speed limited at 20 kph • Main rule: cordiality Source : CERTU
How does a home zone look like? • The street gives the feeling to car drivers that they are driving on a pedestrian area (and not the opposite !) • There is no road sign for cyclists, except some markings on the surface Source : CERTU
