Why should schools plan for emergencies? • Actions taken are worthwhile. • Benefits extend to home and community. • Response to emergencies is improved. • Parents/communities are more confident. • Planning prevents injuries and saves lives. • Schools are responsible for ensuring safety. • State laws require planning.
