Preparation by preaching, teaching and helping “18 The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me toheal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, Luke 4:18
Jesus began his ministry giving special force to five words: • To the poor: poverty. • To heal the brokenhearted: sorrow. • To preach deliverance to the captives: bondage. • To recovering of sight to the blind: suffering. • To set at liberty those who are oppressed: oppression.
B. God wants you to feel sympathy for people who are suffering in five steps, • To the poor- you help them with your compassion, give foods and clothes, teach how to become independent skill and how to pray for their needs. • To heal the broken hearted- you deal with their difficult and negative situations with your courage and wisdom for the solutions. • To preach deliverance to the captives- you preach for the captives of sin that should be free.
To recovering of sight to the blind- You teach them how to take care of their eyes physically and spiritually. • To set at liberty them that are bruised- you help them apply for their right to do anything from being bruised.
C. Paul emphasized the preparation of the Gospel with the beautiful feet quoting the scriptural references: “15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;” Ephesians 6:15 “7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!” Isaiah 52:7
