Rhythm • The most important element of music. • Rhythm is the flow of music in time • Rhythm is the movement or procedure with uniform or patterned recurrence of a beat, accent, or the like
Rhythm cont. • Rhythm is an ordered recurrent alternation of strong and weak elements in the flow of sound and silence in speech. • Rhythm is also the effect created by the elements in a play, movie, or novel that relate to the temporal development of the action.
Why Rhythm? We chose rhythm because it is what holds the song together. Without rhythm, all you really have is just noise. You need rhythm in a song, because without it, the music would not flow properly. In order to have good music, you need to have a great beat and rhythm section.
