TASK 2 - ESSAY Some cities are becoming overcrowded. What are some solutions to this problem?
All (1)in/over/of the world, people are moving from the countryside to the cities, but this makes many cities too crowded. (2)These/This/Those is a problem (3)but/so/because overcrowding can cause serious issues, such as traffic jams, poor health from disease, and poor living conditions. However, there are (4)a/several/many solutions for this problem.
The (5)possible/final/first solution is that governments should improve transport systems around major cities. (6)For/In/Such example, they could build more motorways or develop public transport systems, such (7)of/in/as trains or buses, so people could (8)live/lived/living in areas outside the city and easily travel to work in the city every day. Consequently, people would move out of the (9)crowd/crowded/crowdingcities.
A second solution to the problem of overcrowding is that governments should (10)develop/ developer / development new cities (11)which/where/who people can live and work. For instance, the government of Abu Dhabi has built Khalifa City and Mohammed bin Zayed City close to Abu Dhabi City. Because of (12)this/these/them, many people now live in those new cities instead (13)for/of/to in the city of Abu Dhabi, so it is less crowded.
(14)Finally/Conclude/End, governments should make laws (15)for/of/to control where people can live. (16)When/If/However they did that, they would be able to limit (17)who/what/how many people lived in each city. As a result, governments could solve the problem (18)to/of/for overcrowding in cities (19)by/for/over planning and controlling population levels in each part of their countries.
In conclusion, although the problem of overcrowding (20)effects/affects/defects many cities around the world, there are solutions (21)to/over/by this problem. Governments should provide better transport systems into cities, develop new cities for people to live in, and pass laws to limit the number of people who live in each city. I believeall governments should plan carefully to deal (22)to/in/with this problem.
