I was walking back to my seat when the announcements came over the loudspeaker saying, “The main event for the wrestling championship has been canceled due to the champ’s opponent forfeiting the match. “ I walked into the general manager’s office and said, “I will fight the champ’.’ Then the champ walked into the office---MC-Junk, the champion, standing right in front of me! He looked at me and asked, “ Would you like an autograph, young man?’’ I responded, “No, but I would like a match with you for that belt.’’ The manager answered, ‘’If you beat him, you will have a contract with the company.’’ I was excited, “You got a deal! I would like to wrestle in tonight’s main event.’’
I returned to my seat. The announcement came on, “ The main event is back on! It will be MC-Junk vs a new-comer, Robert.” I said to myself , “I can’t believe I'm going to fight the champ!” Then, my family looked at me and screamed at the same time, “WHAT!!!!” Double H and E. J. Lee came over, “Welcome to the company, and we hope you enjoy your experience here. We will have Shame Fist come and get you.” I stood up, shook their hands and thanked them.
I watched all the wrestling matches. It started with Double H vs the Overtaker. A news reporter asked me, “How did you get into the match?” I responded, “I borrowed someone’s backstage pass, and then I talked to the GM.” My dad looked over, “I hope you know what your getting yourself into.” I answered, “Yes, now may I have some time to think of a way to win my match?” My dad said, “Yes, we will be rooting for you.”
I was backstage when the GM walked in. I asked if my dad could come back and help me get ready for my match. It was okay with the GM, so my dad walked in and asked, “Is everything okay?” I was worried, “I don’t know if I can do it.” Dad made me feel better, “You can! You just have to believe in yourself and anything is possible.”
In my mind, I thought I was going to embarrass myself. I kept hearing my father’s voice, “Believe in yourself.” All of a sudden, the stage crew asked if I was ready. I replied, “YES!!” The crew got my last minute details, and they said they were ready for me. My music played and the fireworks went off BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! I made my way to the ring slapping hands with people in the crowd, and I jumped into the ring.
While waiting for my opponent in the ring, the referee asked if everything was okay. Then here he came--- MC-Junk started his way to the ring with a microphone. He joked, “Who is this kid? He’s a newbie, he doesn't know how to wrestle!” I yelled back, “Get in the ring so we can give these people what they paid for, no one cares who’s new or who can or can’t wrestle. It’s all for the people's entertainment.” Then the bell rang. DING! DING! DING!
As MC-Junk was about to get in the ring, a monkey out of nowhere jumped onto the ring post. No matter what, the monkey would not let MC-Junk in, so MC-Junk said, “Shoo, shoo get out of here!” Then the monkey shouted, “No! I will stay here until the match is over. You can stay.” He said, “Ok.” MC-Junk jumped into the ring, “Bring it on!”
MC-Junk stayed on the mat, “Let’s make this a ‘fall count anywhere’ match.” The monkey answered, “No, this match must be inside these ropes, or you must forfeit that title. It’s up to you.” MC-Junk thought about it for a while and he responded, “Here it’s all yours only because I don’t trust that monkey, so I will win it back in the near future. Maybe I will win at one of the pay per views.” I responded, “Yes.”
MC-Junk then threw the belt at me. The referee came in and raised my hand----I had won! The boss came into the ring and said, “Good job on your win. I wish you good luck with your new job.”
The manager came into the ring . He placed the contract on the table, and I signed it. We shook hands and walked backstage. WOW! I was going to be a professional wrestler! To Be Continued...
