James • Exposed to the region via intern experience in Jamestown • Surgical interest was established • Opportunity to establish a teaching post in Whyalla was then pursued • Subsequently post also been used by advanced surgical trainees • Consolidated training in Jamestown • 12/12 on Macquarie Island with AAD • Currently remains in region Training for Rural and Remote Practice - Flexibility

  7. Corina • Exposed to the region as a medical student • Aimed to return to region with Obstetric skills as required by the town • AST/ARSP in Obstetrics • Has returned to the region and practicing advanced obstetrics, all as single mother Training for Rural and Remote Practice - Flexibility

Kris • Worked in region with Divisions for several years prior to doing medicine • Always intent on returning • Undertook 5 years of hospital work in succession to gain skills, including anaesthetics, obstetrics and surgery • Doing 12/12 in Ceduna prior to moving back to her home town which have enabled the re-establishment of obstetric services in that town Training for Rural and Remote Practice - Flexibility

  11. Alex • Also from the region he intends returning to • Some exposure to aboriginal health during training • AST/ARSP set up including stints in remote practice, RFDS and Aboriginal Health Service • Will enable him to service the region Training for Rural and Remote Practice - Flexibility
