Creating a table in Access. If database is completely new, the table creation process will start automatically when you open the database Otherwise you use Create / Table on Ribbon. Change to Design View. Click on Home

If database is completely new, the table creation process will start automatically when you open the database • Otherwise you use Create / Table on Ribbon
Change to Design View • Click on Home • Click on the Design View menu choice - far left end of the Ribbon with grid box on it
Enter data in fields • Click on the Design view button to change to Datasheet view • Begin entering data, hitting Enter or tab after each field
To make a relationship between tables • Start by clicking on the Database Tools menu on the Ribbon
Adding relationships • Decide which fields in which tables you want to relate • Drag the arrows from one of the fields you want to relate to the other – not just the TABLES but the specific fields
Types of Relationships • One to one • Person to Driver’s License, Country to President • One to many • Mother to Child, Division to Department, Supervisor to Employees, Owner to Car • Many to many • Parent to child, student to professor, nurse to patient
