  2. Streptococcus SHAPE: Coccus Size: .5 mm Gram staining: Gram Positive (purple) Location: throughout the US

  3. Streptococcus Common source: direct contact, airborne, out of nose and mouth into other persons blood stream, people with open wounds are more likely to contact it. VERY CONTAGIOUS -within 24 hours it becomes less contagious. Location: Nasopharynx, throat, lungs, and blood stream.

  4. Streptococcus Symptoms: -sore throat -throat erythmia -swollen lymph nodes -low blood pressure -Fever Treatment: (Antibiotics) -Amoxicillin -penaccilin Keflex

  5. Influenza • It is a strand that affects the body. • Transmission: • Direct: droplets of substances • Indirect: couphing, and sneezing • Contact with contaminated sources

  6. Influenza • The most common symptoms are chills, fever,running nose, headache, nausea/dizziness. • Vomiting, and usually leads into pneumonia

  7. Influenza • Prevention: you can take vaccinations to help with not getting a certain strand. • There are multiple therapies and medications that you have to undergo to get rid of influenza.
