QUESTIONS IN TRAINING • Assess the level of knowledge • Check student’s learning goals • Attract/hold attention • Check understanding of students
STEPS IN QUESTIONING • Ask an open question • All participants think about the answer • One student answers. Possibilities: • react to the answer, or • forward the answer to the rest of the group, or • question further
TIPS IN QUESTIONING • Don’t ask more than one question at a time • Ask clear questions • Do not (implicity) give the answer yourself • Do not ask disaffirmative or trick questions
STEPS IN ANSWERING • Student asks a question • If necessary, ask for an explanation • Summarise the question • Give the answer or forward question to the group • Check whether the answer satisfies the student
