  2. CITY POWER PLANT IN TŘEBÍČ

  3. HISTORY • Electrical lamps were first switched on in 1899. Earlier lighting was very bad. • Power from the factory‘s dynamo was regular with voltage 120V. This condition lasted until 1931,when Baťa bought „borovinské závody“.He had to install new power plant because all of his machines were for voltage 220V. • Třebíč was one of the first towns where a power station was built. Its power of 350kW looked superfluous because the number of houses was too small. The first power plant was built on the municipal meadow on Polanka the area of which was 3200 m2, from 1898-1899 by organization Ganz and Inc & Co.

  5. Some people didn´t trust electricity at the beginning and they weren´t interested in connecting the electricity with their homes. They protested that the electric current was dangerous, because it started the fires. And its installation was too expensive. • From 1910 -1911 the town Třebíč built a water power plant in the „Poušův mlýn“.According to the agreement the water power plant cooperated with the existing power plant. • Consumtion of electicity rose very fast until 1912. The power station produced enough electricity for Třebíč and villages in the area – Podklášteří and Jewish town

  6. In 1927 the consuption of electricity was about 110% higher than in 1919 • The nationalization of the energy industry took place in 1945 and construction of the trafostation in the registration place of Řípov led to connection of electricity in 1947. Třebíč´s steam power plant lost its purpose and was cancelled.
