  2. Introduction • I am studying Harbour Pollution in Sandefjord. I wanted to study this because I really love the water. I actually didn’t know that SandefjordHarbour was polluted! Many of you probably don’t know this, but Sandefjord is actually one of the 29 Harbours in Norway that needs cleaning.

  3. What is thehistoryofthis? • This dates back to when Thor Heyerdahl sailed to Sandefjord about 1950. • He saidthattheseawas full offatty oil bumps.

  4. Who is responible for cleaningthis? • Everybody in Sandefjord is! We have causedthis, wewant to stop this, and so we have to takeresponsibility for this!

  5. What is happening? • Currently the fjord is contaminated with PCB’s. PCB’s (Polychlorinated Byphenils) can cause cancer to both humans and animals. This can reduce the amount of fish in the market and can maybe stop the ferry from driving.

  6. How can we prevent this from happening? • Youcanpreventthis by not littering. • Why?Because when you throw the litter on the ground, the litter washes away with the melted snow into the water. • Youcanalsopreventthis by payingthetax. Someofthetax dollars og to cleaning up the fjord.
