  3. Is UMC in crisis? • 57% of all UM congregations did not have even 1 profession of faith in 2005! • Steady decline in membership since 1968 • Men in most congregations are over 65 • Congregations are mostly female • Many pastors exhausted, leaving ministry

  4. Is UMM in crisis? • 50% Drop in active UMM charter units (from 12,000 to 6,000) • Average age of men is 65 • Most men not growing spiritually
