  4. Junior Requirements • Math—3rd year • English—3rd year • Science—3rd year • Social Studies—3rd year • Personal Finance (need before you graduate)

  6. Tech School • Applications due back in guidance office by December 13 • Take OASIS test on January 29 • If accepted, you will take 3 hours at FHHS and 3 hours at Lewis and Clark Tech School • Earn 6 credits a year

  8. Tech School • Did you know? You can earn college credit hours or advanced standing. The following institutions award these credits: St. Louis Community College University of Northwestern Ohio Linn State Technical College Universal Technical College Construction Craft Labor Apprenticeship Associated General Contractors of St. Louis Construction Craft Laborer Apprenticeship Floor Layers Apprenticeship East Central Community College St. Charles County Community College Vatterott College

  9. Honors Courses • Juniors are able to take Honors and AP classes. It is recommended that you speak with your current core subject area teacher and get their recommendation for these classes.

  10. Advanced Credit • You can take courses at FHHS that count as college credit. These are Advanced Credit courses. These courses are offered through University of Missouri – St. Louis or Lindenwood University. Calculus Marketing II Art History Spanish III IV V French III IV V Adv. Automated Accounting

  11. Advanced Placement • Advanced Placement courses are FHHS courses that are college level. If the national exam is successfully completed, college credit or advanced placement in college courses may result.   13. A+ Program • A+ pays for two free years at any public community college or technical school in the state of Missouri. • April 3rd at 2:30pm in the Auditorium is the next training for sophomores and juniors who want to do their tutoring hours this summer.

  14. A+ Requirements • You do NOT need straight As; just a cumulative unweighted GPA of 2.5 upon graduation • 95% attendance • No major discipline • Score Proficient or Advanced on the Algebra I EOC ( You can sign up to retake this) • See the A+ Website for complete details on A+ requirements

  15. Academic and Special Awards • Missouri College Preparatory Studies Certificate • President’s Award for Educational Excellence • Standard of Academic Accomplishment Award Refer to enrollment guide for qualifications.

Cum Laude • Recognized at graduation. • 4.2 and above summa cum laude • 4.0-4.19 magna cum laude • 3.8-3.99 cum laude • 27 credits earned • Completed 4 units in each of core areas • Earned a minimum of a proficient in all but one End of Course Exam • 27 on ACT or a 1220 combined on 2 of 3 sections on SAT • Attended at least one year at Francis Howell High School

  17. Responsibility • Accumulation of credit is your responsibility as a student • If you need summer school or a correspondence course, it is your responsibility to complete the course or courses

  18. Activities--Eligibility • Students must be enrolled in 3.0 credits Students must have earned 3.0 credits the preceding semester • Students must maintain a minimum of 1.5 GPA

Activities • Activities are an integral part of the school’s program of education • NAIA schools need to register www.playnaia.org • See the Activities Director or your counselor regarding the NCAA Clearinghouse if you plan to seek college athletic scholarships at the Division I or II level (www.eligibilitycenter.org)

  21. Registration • Review course information with your parents • Complete your course request form • Return your form to your Biology Teacher • All forms due December 6
