Parts of a Taiko Drum • Bachi: dowels, or sticks, used to play • Ko: the body of the drum • Hara: center of the skin (bass) • Fuchi: outside of the skin (tone) • Kawa: the skin
What does it take to be a taiko drummer? • Karada: strength of body, power, stamina • Kokoro: strength of mind and spirit • Waza: musical skills • Rei: respect, communication
