“The Demon Lover” Pop Quiz • Answer the following questions on a separate sheet of paper. • Why does Mrs. Drover’s house appear strange to her? • Why is she mystified when she sees a letter addressed to her on the hall table? • What is the letter about? • How does she feel about receiving the letter? • What happens after she gets into the taxi?
“Demon Lover” Pop Quiz Answers • Mrs. Drover hasn’t been there for a long time. • The caretaker was away, and the house was closed up, so no one could have dropped off a letter. • The writer of the letter is a man Mrs. Dover’s fiancé. The letter reminds her of a promise she made to him.
