Forces & The Solar System Revision • To identify your best method of revision
Revision • Revision is extremely important - but do not leave this to the last moment! • The more you do something (e.g. write something out; repeat a word in your head) the more likely you’re remember it • So give yourself lots of time to revise • You’re revision may vary - you may find it best to write things down / speak to friends about topics / draw things to help you remember / use the computer (online tests etc)… • It is key you find the best revision technique for you
Forces & Solar System • You are going to be split into small groups - then you will split into pairs, and choose a topic to research • Then at the end, your pair will rejoin the group, and as a group produce some posters about all the topics everyone needs to revise • You are researching in pairs to help everyone, so put the effort in! • Resources include your books / science books / revision books / internet
Forces & Solar System 1) Forces - types of force; arrows (size); balanced & unbalanced • Speed - S=D/T; road surfaces; friction • Floating - why objects float; how does salt affect this • Mass & Weight - Newton meters (how do they work); what is mass / weight • Space - what are the planets / solar system / galaxies / universe • Day & Night - what causes day & night; seasons; phases of Moon • Life - are their aliens (arguments for & against); what are stars; what are constellations (how useful)
