LIFE TABLES A maximum age an individual can live. Each species has a characteristic life span – few survive to the maximum age possible. Age-specific patterns of a particular population can be studied to determine changes. Life tables follow the fate of a group of new born individuals (COHORT) through their lives to calculate survivorship curve. Cohort – reveals patterns of reproduction, death and migration that typify the population of a given species.
