  2. Periodic Review/Promotion Panel • Periodic review/promotion panel is one of the same thing • It occurs twice a year • Cases are submitted to local deanery/unit

  5. What is needed for Periodic Review? • Agreed job description which MUST be signed • Organisation chart • Complete correctly Periodic Grading Review Request (Support Jobs) • https://www.ed.ac.uk/files/atoms/files/grading_review_request_support_jobs_2017-18.pdf

  6. Should you go for it? If since starting your role it has: • Increased your responsibilities • You are more involved • The role has you stretched • Potential expert in the role

  7. College Promotions Panel Membership • College Registrar • Heads of Deanery Administration (3) • Deputy Head of School (Operations) • Business Manager(s) • IT • Trade Union Rep • External Rep • HR

  8. Appeal Process Before appeal speak with your manager/TU rep or HR to ensure you have grounds. Two reasons to appeal • There has been a procedural defect • Clear evidence of better job match You have 4 weeks to appeal from date of your outcome letter.

  9. Responsive Grading • Job has changed due to a re-organsational change • Discuss with your manager your case • Cases can be considered anytime of the year

  10. What you need: • Current job description • New job description • Organisation chart • Covering email explaining reasons for role change • Submit to relevant HR Advisor for Deanery/Unit by Line Manager

  11. Additional Increments/Lump Sum • Applications submitted to local Deanery/Unit by 23rd March 2018 • Must have job description and nomination form signed

  12. Voucher Reward Scheme • Available all year • Manager nominates member of staff for a retail voucher • Voucher is either £50 or £100

  13. Dates to remember November Promotion Panel • Info to Hos by 6th October • Case finalised and to HR by 20th October • If successful effective from 1st Feb 2018 June Promotion Panel (Increments & Lump Sum) • Info to HoS by 23rd March 2018 • Case finalised and to HR by 6th April 2018 • If successful effective from 1st August 2018
