  2. What is a root canal? Root canals are required for those who are injured on the tooth or deep cavity, genetics, or previous filling tooth. Who are the ones who need a root canal? Those who had sensitivity in teeth especially for hot and cold sensations.

  3. Root canal treatment : Mainly the root canal treatment contains removal of inflamed or injured pulp and delicately clean and germicide the inside tooth, then filled and closed up.

  4. Things to know : • A soft tissue called pulp is found inside your tooth, beneath the white enamel and a hard layer called dentin. • This tissue comprises blood arteries, nerves, and connective tissue, all of which aid in the growth of the root of your tooth. • Because the tooth is supplied by the tissues around it, a fully mature tooth can survive without the pulp.

  5. Steps to be taken in Root Canal Treatment: Step 1: Anesthetic • A small amount of numbing medicine will be applied to the gums near the impacted tooth by the dentist. • A local anesthetic will be inserted into your gums once the medication has taken effect. • A severe pinch or a burning feeling may occur, but it will fade rapidly.

  6. Step 2: Detach the pulp • The dentist will make a small opening in the crown of your tooth when it is numb. • The specialist will carefully remove the contaminated or damaged pulp using specific files once it has been exposed. • They'll take special care to clean up all of your tooth's channels.

  7. Step 3: Coating Process • The dentist may apply a topical antibiotic to the area after the pulp has been removed to ensure that the infection is gone and to prevent reinfection. • The dentist will fill and seal the tooth using a sealer paste and a rubber-like material called gutta-percha after the canals have been cleaned and sterilized.

  8. Step 4: Protection Process • The final step will be filling the top surface of the tooth with a soft, makeshift material. • It helps prevent the canals from the saliva.
