Treasurer’s Report • Dr. Scott Goodman • Financial Report 2013 - 2014
Financial Report 2013-2014 Dr. Goodman Closing out last year (FY 2012-2013) Revenues returned to FY 10-11 levels after a down year in FY 11-12. However, an increase in expenses more than offset the revenue gains, so Campus House ended FY 12-13 with a smaller excess of revenue over expenses than the previous year.
Current Year 2013-2014 (through Q3, April 30) • So far, this year has been slightly better than last year. Revenues are down slightly through Q3; expenses are down a bit more: • The staff is still focused on trying to reduce costs in all areas of the operation. • Based on available data, Campus House should end FY 13-14 with an excess of revenue over expenses. Balance (Q3) • We are solvent: • Assets include inventory, cash, ($13,670), and credits.
Details So far in FY 2013-2014, food and beverage costs are 84% of sales revenue; in FY 2012-2013 this number was slightly lower after Q3 (81%), but ended the year at 88%. Membership dues were up significantly in FY 12-13 (last year) as compared to FY 11-12 ($39,745 vs. $36,251). Membership dues collected in FY 13-14 (this year) are almost identical to those from the same period last year. The Hospitality Student Program Fund (your “tips”) remains healthy with approximately $22 K at the end of Q3 in cash assets to fund student educational activities. Summary Campus House is in a good financial position. Our membership base is holding steady, and we are still holding the line on costs, which has resulted in a small accumulation of reserve funds.
