  2. Brooke Ellison Was hit by a car on the way home from 7th grade Is now a quadriplegic - paralyzed from the neck down with no use of her arms or legs • Is on a ventilator - machine that breathes for her • Supported by her mom who went with her to school

  3. Brooke Ellison • Graduated and went on to Harvard with her mom where she graduated Magna cum laude • Wrote an autobiography with her mother entitled Miracles Happen • Ran for Senate in 2006

  4. Brooke Ellison’s Themes/Outlook • Anything is possible. • Don’t take things for granted. • Life is too short for petty arguments. • With courage and strength one can accomplish anything.
