‘CGI and special FX in documentary film’ By Simon Taylor
Academic articles I started by typing in the full phrase into Google Scholar. METZ (2008) This source seems to be leaning towards the use of VFX in documentary's being bad, however, they have balanced there point by giving examples of ways it has been beneficial.
Academic articles With this source I was unable to tell from the Abstract alone, so I ran the title through the shu library database, they had a link to the pdf of the article. The article talks about docudramas, which is a recreation of none-fiction events, using creative liscence to fill in the gaps.
Academic articles I tried making the search more directed towards the actual question, While I still got the paper on the previous The top link seems to be a very relevant Source. COLLINS (2008) As there is a pdf link attached I was able to go straight to the article This source appears to be very suitable for the given question.
Industry websites To try and get some industry sources I did a full web search to find some articles written by companies in the industry This website gives advise to documentary makers on how to add vfx/ cgu to there film, going into cost and making it realistic.
Books I started my search for books on the topic on Google books, here I found a few titles and with some search alterations I found one that looked relevant. The Google search only gave access to a few pages in the book so I searched the shu library database Unfortunately, this book is not available to read online or at t he shu library at the moment CHAPMAN (2007)
